On the Lion's Dare
The Scout has pointed out the Lion’s track
He is following it, and I am following Him.
This Church is tall.
Who is that scouting the way for me?
I have been circling this Church warily, not daring, for many years.
The Scout is on the Lion’s trail
And I am following with an effort
In an effort to understand; to know; to manifest the Dream
But the Church has come to represent so many things...
I have crept into it, where the Righteous sit
Feeling unclean and unworthy and unwilling
Afraid of death and man-king
Afraid of the Absolute Authority as interpreted by an unmet heart
I have circled this dare for many years...
God’s dare cannot be met by an unwilling heart
And souls cannot be joined with those they fear
But the One who names demons names my fear
Who is that following the Lion’s tracks?
I am following Him.
This must be the value of meeting the dare:
My life.
All right.
I will take up the yoke.
