Trespasses 1982

There are things now I wish I had not to keep
Those letters were never mine
Only wishful
And I am reluctant to remember
Obstinate
I abstain from the memory of all the things given
All the things taken
That were not ours, after all
Better they had been left unbestowed
There are things now I wish I had not to keep.

Knowledge scores the heart
And I tender the blemish of the trespasses of the past
I cannot deny it
There are things now I wish I had not to keep.
