Waiting for Who? 1974 - 1989

Time and the way we spend it add up to our lives
And one day we answer.
If there is a blessing for us, it is to life.

We desire many things, but not all of them add up to blessings...

Some people are trapped, or snared;
Some, seduced by fantasy:  they think they are free
But they linger close to the Waster.

In any case, we bear the weight of our reputations,
And to whom can we turn?
How many sages have you or I met
Who were willing to walk along with us?

The Kindred Spirit is very subtle
And when it sees a person dissatisfied and close to change
It can multiply
So the focus of that person changes to a higher thing.

Tonight as I waited on for one who promised,
The realization rose

I was waiting for someone who would not walk with me
I was surrounded by smoke and confusions and souls in the dark
Ignorant of their responsibilities,
Or denied the knowledge of their freedoms

Eventually I slipped away and went home.
